Episode Sixteen: And You’re Back In The Cells (1/19/05)

[Featuring Aerdaluna, Lorel, Hal, & Smithy]

As the party discussed their options, again a brief moment of
blindness and the party was again in the jail cells. All the party
was there, including the two new arrivals. Hal, Serenity, and Pan
were still comatose however. Lorel wishing to find his friends used
the knowledge he gained for the deck to determine that their souls
were still actually in the dungeon, behind one of the doors that
they had almost breached at the beginning of the day.

Lorel indicated that the souls of their companions were in one
of the arcane locked chambers. Investigating they discoverd a
simalacra of a vrock demon. The party attacked the demon in an
attempt to recover the souls. Before they could kill the demon, it
revealed that it had the companions souls in glass vials.
Threatening to destroy their souls, the demon tried to parlay for
the soul of the Emeral Mage. The demon showed its willingness to
carry through on the plan by smashing one of the vials. As the
party heard the antanonizing screams coming from the cells (where
the comatose characters were resting), they launched one final
attack on the demon slaying it. The remaining vial started to fall
to the ground, but Lorel lept over the other characters and caught
it before it shattered on the floor. The vial contained the soul of
Hal, which when imbibed restored Hal to full capacity. The
shattered vial had apparently contained the soul of Pan whose
lifeless body seemed slight and pale upon investigation. Serenity’s
soul was not found.

The party discovered that they were stuck in a time loop created
as a curse upon Delzomen for attempting to tamper with fate and
avoid his death using magics he was not advanced enough to handle.
They discovered that any knowledge they gained remained with them,
but any things they tried to take or modify always returned to
their original locations.

They tried many ways to escape the curse, but each failed and
after an hour the curse took effect and returned them to their
cells, healthy but confused and frustrated. They did realize that
they needed to convince Delzomen to not carry through his
experiement, but ultimately couldn’t convince him to just let it
go. It was not until they were able to propose an alternate
solution to his obsession with avoiding death that they were able
to break the loop.

They experience the flash of light one last time and found
themselves in the proper time where a Green Star Delzomen greeted
them and thanked them for their assistance. He thanked them with
the gift of a ring of wishes and transportation back to the caves
of the seer.

Prophecy: Episode Fifteen: Dead Again (1/12/05)

Episode Fifteen: Dead Again (1/12/05)

[Featuring Aerdaluna, Serenity, Lorel, Hal, and introducing
Smithy]

After resting from their tribulations and mourning the loss of
Ioco the party decided to take Ioco’s body with them to give him a
proper burial when they returned to civilization. During their time
resting, Aerdaluna and Charley revived with a tale of fevered
dreams and half-remembered visions of epic rituals and bodies of
ice and snow. Aerdaluna indicated that he had seen a secret door in
his vision that the party had missed. They decided to investigate
this before entering the arcane locked chambers.

The secret door led to a small chamber with the remains of a
similacrum in the center as well as a blood stained rapier and bag.
As the party approached the mound, a ghostly form coallessed and
began to attack them. It was quickly dispatched by arrows from the
Bow of Larethian. The party gathered up the items and started to
leave the chamber when they were blinded by a white light.

When their vision cleared they discovered that they were trapped
in the jain cells they had investigated earlier. Finding that they
still had all their possessions and faculties about themselves,
they remedied an escape. Aerdaluna charmed on of the Urskans and
they bluffed the other Urskan into letting them go. As they began
to cautiusly explore what had happened to them, they discovered
that something was different. There was less ice on the passages.
Creatures they had killed were alive again, rooms that were
previously in ruins were complete and whole. Worse, they found that
the dragon was still alive. Lorel peeked into the chamber where the
dragon was and found the dragon with Delzomen and a prisoner.

Retreating to regroup, the party decided to take out the dragon
and try to retake the laboratory. While they did get the dragon to
within an inch of death, they were quickly blasted out of existence
by the powerful magics of Delzomen. Everyone died.

Strangely, they found themselves back at full health moments (?)
later in the prison cells again. This time they party decided to
avoid the lab and tried to just escape. They charmed both Urskans
and as they were passing through the library they were about to
make good their escape. Aerdaluna, however, picked up one of the
books and that made the inhabitants of the room suspicious.
Tensions were high and soon the party was in a fight. As the frost
folk and the urskans focused their attacks on Aerdaluna, most of
the party defended themselves until a truce could be reached.
Aerdaluna escaped through the wall and began exploring another lab
and the rooms off the main hall.

The rest of the party entered the study where some of Delzomen’s
books were stored as well as a box containing a Deck of Many
Things. The party felt compelled to draw from the deck and the
results were varied. Two cards flipped of their own accord
resulting in the revival of Smithy and The Emerald Mage (the two
ice statues that the party had been carrying with them). Some
received rewards others were trapped in the oblivion of the
void.

As the party discussed their options, again a brief moment of
blindness and the party was again in the jail cells. All the party
was there, including the two new arrivals. Hal, Serenity, and Pan
were still comatose however. Lorel wishing to find his friends used
